Activities:
The Washington State University Block and Bridle Club is very active in animal science events throughout the year. Here is a list of things we have participated in:
Evergreen Sale and Show
Members of our club, travel to the show to help WSU's beef center exhibit and sell their cattle. Throughout the fall months, members of our club work to halter break, wash, clip, and show the cattle at this event. This is a great opportunity for our members to get hands on experience working with cattle.
National Convention
The past few years, our members have gotten to travel around the United States to participate in the National Block and Bridle Convention. This convention gives our members an opportunity to attend tours of other university facilities as well as industry tours, meet other block and bridle members from around the United States, and
Little I
_This event is held in conjunction with University of Idaho's Block and Bridle Club. Students in the Ag department show all or any combination of beef and
dairy cattle, sheep, horses, and pigs. The week leading up to the big event is spent working with both chapters to prepare for the show.
Agriculture Tours
Through out the year, the members of our club decide what tours they want to take throughout the semester. The members get to choose what ever they are interested in. Last semester we toured Dick Coons cow/calf operation in Hooper, Washington. We are currently scheduling tours related to feed lot operations, goat/sheep production facilities, equine training/boarding facilities, carcass evaluation using ultra sound data, and food processing facilities
Along with our tours, we have had quest speakers present at our club meetings about industry standards, livestock production facilities, and animal production cycles. We are currently working on scheduling one speaker a month to come and educate our members on different aspects of the agriculture industry.

Monthly Meetings
Our club meets two times a month during the school week. Our meetings are designed to help our members contribute to our club activities throughout the year. We use this time to plan all of the above events. Students who actively participate learn valuable skills like teamwork, cooperation, and parliamentary procedure.
